I would like to remove the factory roof rack on my wj.

The center cross bars on the jeep grand cherokee were standardized equipment from the manufacturer on the 1999 to 2001 models. In 2002 jeep eliminated the feature but offered the accessories as an aftermarket option. Custom jeep wj roof rack with integrated. It s not too bad. Its a 99 if it matters. The roof rails were still present on the 2002 and later models but the cross bars had to be. I dont use it dont really like the look of it plus the paint on it is flaking and peeling off and looks like crap.

The front and rear are just caps slide a screw driver underneath and pry up carefully until they pop up. People had some questions about how i did some stuff with the roof rack i made some i hope this helps. Once popped then you can remove all ten torx bolts although i would avise a nice bath in pb blaster or something they will be tight and rusty.
